The behavior of fascial tissues is becoming more precisely understood through the work of many scientists around the world. Of interest to clinicians is the understanding of mechanical strain transmission through fascia. This exciting new information presents a challenge to many clinicians because most manual therapy techniques are built on understandings of muscle and nerve tissue. The challenge for many clinicians is to integrate new scientific information into their hands-on practice in the clinic. Common challenges are palpation of fascia, understanding its three dimensional connections and role in function.
The Pelvic Girdle is central to the whole body. Imbalance, instability or fascial strain in this region can not only create local dysfunction but drive dysfunction in distant structures.
In this workshop you can expect to;
- Explore the architecture of myofascial structures around the pelvis, especially fascial intersections and junction points.
- Understand how postural patterns can compromise function.
- Learn simple tests to identify pelvic imbalances and instabilities.
- Learn techniques to treat the pelvic girdle from a fascial perspective.
