FAKTR-PM was developed to help speed recovery from acute and chronic musculskeletal pain syndromes. Chronic pain results from dysfunction of the sensori-motor system, which is manifested in soft tissue and fascia. This new treatment approach to soft tissue dysfunction combines instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization with proprioceptive techniques to reduce pain and return function. Combining manual treatment of soft tissue with propriceptive exercises produces faster results than conventional treatment methods.
In this advanced soft tissue course you will learn how to treat patients during function—while in motion or under load—using various forms of treatment including but not limited to: Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation, Myofascial Release Technique, PIR, PNF, Kinesiotape, and Cross Friction Massage. Emphasis will be placed on evaluating and treating the kinetic chain, in addition to treating the specific location of pain.
Accurate assessment, functional examination and treatment of 6 different areas of the body will be discussed, demonstrated then practiced utilizing hands-on treatment. Following treatment of each body region an introduction, demonstration, and practice of the Kinesiotaping method will be performed.
